How our rankings are created

The scoring model

Every location receives a score from 0 to 100 points, based on five objectively verifiable criteria:

1. 01 Completeness of the listing

   max. 26 pts

   How fully the listing is documented: address, contact details, website, opening hours, prices, temperature and photos. Each missing field costs points.

2. 02 Verification of the listing

   max. 24 pts

   Whether the data has been confirmed – by the operator claiming the listing or by our own check against official sources.

3. 03 Public reviews

   max. 24 pts

   The average public Google rating combined with the number of reviews, so a handful of perfect ratings does not outweigh a large, consistent track record.

4. 04 Range of services

   max. 18 pts

   The range of documented cold therapies at the location, for example whole-body chamber, cryosauna, local cold air or ice bath.

5. 05 Data freshness

   max. 8 pts

   How recently the information was checked or updated. Older data gradually earns fewer points.

What does not influence the ranking

• Payment. A paid operator listing does not change placement. There are no bought positions and no ads inside the rankings.
• Commissions. We receive no commission for bookings or appointment requests.
• Personal preference. The calculation is fully automated and deterministic.

Ties & sorting

On identical scores, the number of public reviews decides first, then the alphabetical order of the provider name.

Data sources

Base data comes from publicly available sources (including Google business profiles and provider websites) and from operators themselves. Operators can claim, correct and complete their listing at any time.

Reviews

We do not collect our own user reviews. Star ratings shown are averages of publicly available Google reviews at the time of our last data check.

How to read a city ranking

A higher score means a listing is more complete, better documented and more recently checked – it is not a medical quality rating and does not say whether a treatment is right for you. Two providers a few points apart can be equally good choices. Compare the details that matter to you: temperature, session length, price per session, opening hours, supervision and how easy it is to reach the location.

Rankings are calculated per city and never mix providers from different countries. Where a city name exists in several countries, each city gets its own page with its own ranking.

How often scores change

Scores are recalculated automatically whenever listing data changes – for example after a data refresh from public sources, an operator update or a correction we receive. New reviews, updated prices or newly documented services can therefore move a provider up or down. Listings that have not been checked for a long time gradually lose points in the freshness criterion.

Tips for operators

• Claim your listing and confirm that address, phone and website are correct.
• Add current prices, opening hours and the exact temperature of your equipment.
• List every cold therapy you actually offer, such as cryosauna or ice bath.
• Review your data regularly so the freshness score stays high.

None of these steps require a paid plan – they only make your information more accurate, which is exactly what the ranking rewards.
