I have been procrastinating about doing contrast therapy for a long time and found the courage to start this year and joined Reset in Belconnen. I have not missed a week this year and also do red light therapy twice and compression at least once. I have completed four weeks of Masters League qualifying, 3 weeks of CrossFit Open and a weekend of CrossFit quarter finals, and at 55, the body has never felt better. Last year I had a few injuries, but this year I am pain free and loving the recovery focus. Thanks to the team at Reset, it has made a huge difference to my training and along the occasional therapeutic massage from Sheridan, keeps me at the top of my training output.

Reset Strength and Recovery Belconnen is such an amazing space! The Pilates setup is perfect — everything is top quality, easy to use, and lets you move at your own rhythm or with support if needed. The recovery facilities are just as impressive — from the infrared sauna to the ice baths and compression boots, everything is spotless, modern, and thoughtfully designed to help you feel your best. The whole vibe is calm, supportive, and motivating as are the friendly staff. Reset Strength and Recovery is a total game-changer and I am so grateful to have found this amazing studio

Reset is by far the best recovery center I had the chance to visit in Canberra. Finnish sauna is autherntic, no-nonsense and patrons are of a better quality.

Evidence & context

What research says about cold therapy

Recovery

Reviews of whole-body cold therapy mostly show effects on perceived muscle soreness and recovery after intense exercise. The evidence base is heterogeneous and samples are often small.

Research base

Studies describe short-term effects on pain perception and mobility. Results are inconsistent and robust long-term data is largely missing — a therapeutic benefit is not established.

Limitations

Cold therapy does not replace medical treatment. Effect, dosage and frequency vary individually — pre-existing conditions require medical clearance beforehand.
