A sauna in a place like this? It's located on the 8th floor of a multi-tenant building. The saunas are separated into men's, women's, and unisex sections, which is nice because women can enjoy it too. There are self-service and automatic löyly options, so you can use them according to your preference. The sauna style is to wear a swimsuit , but you can go empty-handed as towels, sauna hats, ponchos, and swimsuits are all provided. There's no cold plunge pool, so it's all showers, but it was good that you could cool down even in the ice sauna. There were also various relaxation spaces, which I enjoyed.

I recently visited Sauna Lab. Since I had traveled quite a distance, I decided to try their whisking treatment, and it was absolutely fantastic. Thanks to Ayumi's pre-treatment explanation, I was able to understand the process and enjoy the experience. The vihta service was also very pleasant, but the final service using extremely cold water (I can't say too much to avoid spoilers) blew me away! The other staff members were also very friendly and welcoming, and I ended up staying until closing time. I'll work hard and come back again soon. It was a wonderful memory of Nagoya. Thank you.

It's located in a multi-tenant building in the heart of Sakae. It's a surprising location, with people asking, "Where is it?" It's a sauna facility, but it doesn't have a cold bath. There is a shared space for men and women, as well as separate spaces for men and women. Personally, I feel like the lack of a cold bath is a bit lacking, but I think a facility like this might be nice once in a while. The sauna is also at a comfortable temperature and humidity. I think this facility will be enjoyed especially by sauna novices who are wondering what a sauna is like and what's good about it. Of course, even for sauna lovers, it's highly recommended for a change of scenery and some fun!

Evidence & context

What research says about cold therapy

Recovery

Reviews of whole-body cold therapy mostly show effects on perceived muscle soreness and recovery after intense exercise. The evidence base is heterogeneous and samples are often small.

Research base

Studies describe short-term effects on pain perception and mobility. Results are inconsistent and robust long-term data is largely missing — a therapeutic benefit is not established.

Limitations

Cold therapy does not replace medical treatment. Effect, dosage and frequency vary individually — pre-existing conditions require medical clearance beforehand.
