What guests report
★★★★★ 4.9 / 5 (43 reviews)
“Wonderful session on a very cold and stormy February morning. This sauna is wonderful, Debbie is so friendly and welcoming, making sure the sauna is always fueled and steaming. Had my first Birch Whisking, which was incredible, followed by a cold plunge in the North Sea. What a way to start a week.”
“Great value for money. Debbie was a great host. We were the last booking of the day so were allowed extra time which was brilliant. It will definitely be on the to do list when back up at sandend”
“Being on holiday in the UK, we weren’t familiar with the “book a sauna for an hour” principle. So we decided to enjoy the sauna at Sandend beach. We were so amazed by the great service we got from Jacquelyne and Rebecca. They provide drinking water, al sorts of ways to cool down and a great atmosphere. We were lucky to come across the sea biscuit sauna.”

Reviews of whole-body cold therapy mostly show effects on perceived muscle soreness and recovery after intense exercise. The evidence base is heterogeneous and samples are often small.
Research base
Studies describe short-term effects on pain perception and mobility. Results are inconsistent and robust long-term data is largely missing — a therapeutic benefit is not established.
