I searched for an Ice Bath and Infra Red Sauna in the area post a gym workout and this place came up so I went along and met Mitch the owner. What a brilliant place and the option to do the ice bath inside or the luxury of doing it outside sitting in the made it a real treat. There is Infra Red and an outside Swedish sauna option as well-can’t speak highly enough about this place, clean, friendly, knowledgeable and set me up for the day…I bought a 10 visit pack which I think is really good value and says it all…Thank you..

I had my first Contrast Therapy session here today and I couldn’t recommend Core Recovery more!! The staff are friendly, the space is tranquil and you can tell a lot of love and thought has gone into creating the space. I will definitely be incorporating this into my weekly routine

I have been a long term member of Core Fitness and love everything this space has to offer - Ladies, Mums and Strength training. This week I have tried the new reformer Pilates classes with Ash and have been super surprised! It’s challenging but so fun! Great space and the perfect addition to my health regime. Sauna’s, ice baths and compression downstairs there is nothing this gym doesn’t have! So proud to be a member and can’t wait to see what’s next! Well done!

Evidence & context

What research says about cold therapy

Recovery

Reviews of whole-body cold therapy mostly show effects on perceived muscle soreness and recovery after intense exercise. The evidence base is heterogeneous and samples are often small.

Research base

Studies describe short-term effects on pain perception and mobility. Results are inconsistent and robust long-term data is largely missing — a therapeutic benefit is not established.

Limitations

Cold therapy does not replace medical treatment. Effect, dosage and frequency vary individually — pre-existing conditions require medical clearance beforehand.
