I’ve done a few cold plunge sessions here now (this was my 4th), and honestly it’s become something I really look forward to. Each session leaves me feeling clear, calm, and energised at the same time. My mind feels quieter, my mood lifts, and my body feels lighter, like tension and inflammation, and period-related aches seem to ease... and even cellulite seem to reduce? I’ve also noticed I handle stress and anxiety much better afterwards, which has been of great help. What makes ICE SPA special for me is how safe and supported the experience feels. The space is clean, calm, and professional. The owner, a super friendly guy, guides you the whole time, you’re not just thrown into freezing water. That makes a huge difference, especially if you’re new to it and a bit nervous, like I was. I feel like women don’t do cold plunges enough! It’s not just for gym bros. It’s empowering, fun, and seriously good for your body and mind. I highly recommend giving it a try!

After an intense padel training session, I decided to try the ice bath recovery at Ice Spa — and it was exactly what my body needed! We started with a short breathing session to prepare mentally and physically for the cold. Then came the plunge 2 minutes in the ice bath at 9.3°C. It was cold, no doubt, but incredibly refreshing. Great experience overall! Perfect for athletes looking for quicker recovery, reduced inflammation, and a mental reset. Highly recommended after any high-intensity training like padel. Will definitely return. Thanks to the Ice Spa team for the support and chill vibes!

New business, submerging yourself in pretty cold water for a bunch of health benefits. Jacob the owner, super friendly (and hot) talked us through everything we needed to do and it was fun and invigorating. Probably a good hangover cure too. He told us he isn’t charging for the moment so definitely worth giving it a go, to see if it’s something that will benefit you, without a heavy price tag.

Evidence & context

What research says about cold therapy

Recovery

Reviews of whole-body cold therapy mostly show effects on perceived muscle soreness and recovery after intense exercise. The evidence base is heterogeneous and samples are often small.

Research base

Studies describe short-term effects on pain perception and mobility. Results are inconsistent and robust long-term data is largely missing — a therapeutic benefit is not established.

Limitations

Cold therapy does not replace medical treatment. Effect, dosage and frequency vary individually — pre-existing conditions require medical clearance beforehand.
