I've been a regular at CryoEffect in Hinsdale and can't recommend it enough. The full body cryo treatment has made a real difference in my sleep in particular. I've also been getting facials here, and the results are genuinely visible. On top of the great treatments, the staff is wonderful and clearly knowledgeable about what they do.

An exceptional staff and a great experience! My son is a cross country runner and was experiencing chronic pains in his hips. We had tried Physio and had some success, but I heard about cryotherapy and reached out to CryoEffect. They were able to get us in for a first appointment quickly. The team here was very friendly and thorough; explaining to us the procedures and all our options. They have really great package deals for students and athletes. The office is very clean and sanitary. Feels like a spa! He instantly felt results and has been going back for tuneups. We have definitely have seen improvement in his performance!

The women who run this wonderfully unique, clean and welcoming spa have made me feel like I am part of their wellness family. Mariam, the Manager. is on top of all of the latest means to deliver pain relief and natural beautification services. While you are having the full body cryo treatment, you are in an engaging conversation and it never feels forced or phony. These girls have the gift of authentic gab! I can't recommend this place enough. It is truly the best parts of my wellness routine and the connections while there are a mood altering, energy boosting part of my day. Give it a try! Worth the $$$.

Evidence & context

What research says about cold therapy

Recovery

Reviews of whole-body cold therapy mostly show effects on perceived muscle soreness and recovery after intense exercise. The evidence base is heterogeneous and samples are often small.

Research base

Studies describe short-term effects on pain perception and mobility. Results are inconsistent and robust long-term data is largely missing — a therapeutic benefit is not established.

Limitations

Cold therapy does not replace medical treatment. Effect, dosage and frequency vary individually — pre-existing conditions require medical clearance beforehand.
