After doing some research, we decided on Float House based on reviews and the privacy to have our own room. The staff member was personable and knowledgeable. He walked us through the whole process. The room itself was spotless, well maintained and simply beautiful! Our room had our own freezing plunge tub (that fits 2), a cozy dry sauna and shower that offered a cold water bucket drop. We were also provided robes, towels and lemon water/tea for refreshment. Can’t wait to come back on our next trip! I wish we could have paid more to get a full 2hr sesh in!

Just did a 75 minute float and a massage with Daniel, first time for both. Dear Gods, is this what "relaxed" feels like?!? The float was a wonderful experience, basically felt held while having slight visions of what is holding me down. And the massage was intense and very relaxing! Daniel never made me feel awkward about my body, has wonderful communication skills, and made me feel comfortable and important for the first time in my life! Will definitely book both again!

Loved the float!! So relaxing. I will do it again. Well appointed individual rooms. Spa units are first class. Had a choice of music genres with in-spa volume control and on-off light control. Shower w/soap.

Evidence & context

What research says about cold therapy

Recovery

Reviews of whole-body cold therapy mostly show effects on perceived muscle soreness and recovery after intense exercise. The evidence base is heterogeneous and samples are often small.

Research base

Studies describe short-term effects on pain perception and mobility. Results are inconsistent and robust long-term data is largely missing — a therapeutic benefit is not established.

Limitations

Cold therapy does not replace medical treatment. Effect, dosage and frequency vary individually — pre-existing conditions require medical clearance beforehand.
