One of the best gyms I’ve ever been to. This gym is aesthetic and welcoming, the staff and manager made me feel right at home. All of the machines are clean and well maintained. What stood out the most, though, was the amount of recovery options they offer for your body after training. this is now my home gym away from home when i get to visit seattle

I first tried Henry’s Gym as a guest with a friend and really enjoyed the space and variety of machines. There are so many options and the multi-floor spread makes the gym feel even bigger/more spacious. I can’t speak highly enough about the staff and their kindness! The sign up process with Jada was light and no pressure! She actually took time to talk to me and learn about my fitness goals. She explained all my options and the various packages, but never in a way that felt gimmicky or for me to make a pressured decision. She truly stood by what she shared about the gym being a small community and yet also a boutique and nice gym. Plus the gym rate at tour sign up was a great deal! Today was my first workout and I tried out the lower level presses for a cheat day. I loved the space as much as when I was a guest. I’ve never had such great access to machines during after work gym rush hour time period. The gym was busy, but pretty quiet and I didn’t struggle to do what I wanted for my workout. I’m only starting to get back into weight lifting, so I was pleased to see that there was a variety of fitness levels and I never felt intimated or uncomfortable in the gym. Excited to be a member of Henry’s and really excited about my future workouts here!

Where to start? The staff are always welcoming and very professional. Shout out to Jada who got me through the enrollment process, and Carrol who made me feel right at home. All of the machines are clean and well maintained. Not to mention new and very well made, as well as several free weight options available. The overall aesthetic provides a fun and new way to enjoy your workouts. From the music played in the background; to the wide variety of artwork, rooms, and recovery options; Henry’s is by far a truly unique and fun gym to be a member of.

Evidence & context

What research says about cold therapy

Recovery

Reviews of whole-body cold therapy mostly show effects on perceived muscle soreness and recovery after intense exercise. The evidence base is heterogeneous and samples are often small.

Research base

Studies describe short-term effects on pain perception and mobility. Results are inconsistent and robust long-term data is largely missing — a therapeutic benefit is not established.

Limitations

Cold therapy does not replace medical treatment. Effect, dosage and frequency vary individually — pre-existing conditions require medical clearance beforehand.
