What guests report
★★★★★ 4.3 / 5 (458 reviews)
“I cannot recommend West Seattle Health Club (The Westlake) enough! The facility itself is top-tier—the sauna and steam room are incredible, and the overall equipment is high-quality and well-maintained. This is the best gym in Seattle, Ballard, and surrounding areas. What truly sets this club apart, however, is their customer-focused approach. I had the pleasure of working with Chauna Brooks in member services, and she was absolutely amazing. She was thoughtful, empathetic, and worked with me to find a membership structure that actually fit my needs. It’s clear they value community and the well-being of their members over just 'making a sale.' If you’re looking for a supportive, professional, and well-equipped space for your routine, this is it!!!”

Evidence & context
What research says about cold therapy
Recovery
Reviews of whole-body cold therapy mostly show effects on perceived muscle soreness and recovery after intense exercise. The evidence base is heterogeneous and samples are often small.
Research base
Studies describe short-term effects on pain perception and mobility. Results are inconsistent and robust long-term data is largely missing — a therapeutic benefit is not established.
Limitations
Cold therapy does not replace medical treatment. Effect, dosage and frequency vary individually — pre-existing conditions require medical clearance beforehand.
