I've been using the "beneficial" properties of the cryochamber for many years. Since moving to a new location, access has improved even further. For those unfamiliar, in addition to paid visits twice a year, cryochamber treatment is available through the National Health Fund (NFZ) (with a referral for rehabilitation from your family doctor).

I found some really great treatments that really helped me (for my spine). The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I'm very satisfied. I recommend them and can't wait for my next visits, if I can still schedule and use the treatments, because they're a huge relief for someone who suffers daily. Best regards

Evidence & context

What research says about cold therapy

Recovery

Reviews of whole-body cold therapy mostly show effects on perceived muscle soreness and recovery after intense exercise. The evidence base is heterogeneous and samples are often small.

Research base

Studies describe short-term effects on pain perception and mobility. Results are inconsistent and robust long-term data is largely missing — a therapeutic benefit is not established.

Limitations

Cold therapy does not replace medical treatment. Effect, dosage and frequency vary individually — pre-existing conditions require medical clearance beforehand.
